Grid Builder - Creating stunning lettering layouts has never been easier!
Something that I struggle with and I know you guys do too, is laying out a great composition within your lettering work. You have the quote or words you want to use, you know the style, but you just get stuck with how to lay it out, so it doesn't look like letters just thrown onto a page.
So together (Stefan Kunz and myself) we thought about how we could produce something that could make this process as easy as possible, but still giving you guys the tools to create completely unique pieces of art.
That's when we came up with Grid Builder. A set of 35 individual grid shapes that you can place together to act as guides when creating your layouts. They can be resized, stretched and re-colored so that every layout you compose will look completely different from the next.
What's more, they work in nearly all of the top lettering programs. Brushes in Procreate & Affinity, Custom Shapes & Brushes in Adobe Photoshop and drag and drop Symbols in Adobe Illustrator. Whether you have an iPad, Surface, Wacom or Desktop Computer there is an option that can work for you.
Want to use it with your pens and pencils? No problem, compose them in one of the above programs and print it off!
Want to use it in a program not listed below? Use the Grid Builder font in apps like Keynote, Powerpoint, CorelDraw, Canva, anything that has the access to fonts.

The grid builder brushes have dramatically improved my lettering process on the ipad since I started using them. It speeds up my layout process, keeps me more efficient and takes out the tedious guesswork and refinement I used to do when laying out my own grids. I use this tool almost every time I create something digital now, and it's seriously so awesome that Ian and Stefan have painstakingly created this to be accessible across so many programs (and works analog as well)! This is SO worth the purchase, I highly recommend!

This product is fantastic. It works in Photoshop, Adobe Sketch (ipad pro), Affinity Designer, Procreate etc... It doesn't matter which app I use, the grid builder is there waiting for me.

I'm REALLY happy that Ian and Stefan created these grids in the various formats. I mainly use a Wacom Intuos Pro Pen tablet on a desktop PC. Since I subscribe to Adobe Creative Cloud, the PS and AI file formats help me to get started lettering right away. Nice work, guys!

If you’re an advanced lettering artist or just taking your first steps into this world, this brushes are helpful to develop a fresh project from scratch, combine, reflect, resize, anything you need you can do it, i’ve Been using this for a week and I love it.
At first I wasn't sold on purchasing 'a bunch of boxes' for procreate, but dang these have been so helpful in streamlining my composition process. Features like the center marks, letter spacing guides, and x-height guides make it much easier to keep my lettering pieces consistent and well-balanced. Ian and Stefan did a lovely job of including center marks, letter spacing, etc. in addition to having real people in focus groups test them to be sure it’s a well rounded set of grids. One of my favorite features is how they made the default brush size, which you can of course adjust, big enough for a large workspace without becoming overly pixelated upon enlargement. In a smaller workspace, just adjust the brush size to smaller before you apply the grid. These brushes are a huge time saver — especially when my creative brain needs a kick start. Thank you so much for developing these so I didn’t have to!

Absolutely wonderful collection of tools. The individual Grids makes it so easy to tweak designs until you get it just right. Definitely worth the money!!!!!!!

The grid builder brush set is a must-have tool for anyone that struggles with (or wants to improve with) composition. Using the "brushes" to set up the construct for a design has been helpful during my creative process.
Bonus: they work with the adobe suite! Certainly a time-saver here, even if you never touch Procreate.
Last note: they're not ONLY for lettering--it's been helpful in building out structure for badge and logo sketches that include a typeface/text element.
